Meet Mae Borowski.

Mae is the main character of 2017's big indie narrative video game hit, Night in the Woods! (That's right, y'all, Bella apped a video game character. This is possibly going to be the only time this ever happens.)

Mae's a disaffected young woman with a smart mouth and a penchant for petty crime. Her hobbies include playing bass, running around town and jumping on things (like mailboxes, trashcans, fences, cars, or electrical wires), knife fights, and smashing things with a baseball bat.

Mae's coming in pre-canon as a student, not long after an Incident that has sent her rather reeling. Her self-esteem is in the pits, which means her sarcasm and smartassery is off the charts right now, fair warning. She is definitely going to make things up to make herself "fit in" better in Fandom. Prepare to hear all about how she's the mayor of her hometown, Possum Springs. Also for lots of jokes about dying horribly. And general negativity.

Also, you may have noticed that Mae has a cat head. This is perfectly normal for her world, which is full of zoomorphic people (not to be confused with anthropomorphic animals). As far as she's concerned, she's no different from an average, baseline human (albeit a very short one who can jump and balance super well). You can tell her she has a cat head all you like, she'll think it's some kind of weird long running joke and that you all are making a big deal out of nothing.

If you own a shop in town, Mae will probably want to shoplift there (with OOC permission). If you live in the dorms, Mae will quite possibly wander into your room without knocking and play with your stuff (with OOC permission). She'll also happily talk about all your weird hobbies with you. And leave food out for the gremlins and squirrels.

That's just how she rolls.
