No way in hell was she ever wearing these to "civilized" class.
"Do you talk?" she asked Foomy. "If you talk, tell Nina I said thanks! And . . . I guess feel better? I heard her on the radio. She sounded gross."
Then she sort of awkwardly tried to pat Foomy on the head. Because who didn't want to try patting a jelly monster?

Foomy burbled something that could be an agreement about letting his human know. Or just a cheerful sort of resignation to the fact that he was getting patted.
He didn't really mind, was the thing, especially since he was being talked to reasonably but still. Patting.
